An Exploration of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Every year approximately 1.4 million people suffer some kind of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Of the one million persons treated for TBI in hospital emergency rooms, more than 230,000 require hospitalization and 50,000 die as a result of their injuries.

This Web site offers TBI sufferers, their families and friends, and the professionals who treat them, information on TBI's causes, consequences, and common treatments. It also includes discussions on alternative approaches for treating TBI. Recently, several of these treatments, Neurofeedback in particular, have gained significant respect and support from mainstream medical authorities. Our intent is to present as many solutions as possible for treating TBI, a malady as individual as the persons who suffer from it. We hope this information will make it easier to deal with this condition for both TBI patients and those who care for them.
