Rehabilitation for Traumatic Brain Injury

Nearly one third of the 230,000 people who survive a traumatic brain injury each year experience long-term disabilities. These ailments and their duration depend on several factors including the severity and location of the injury, the person's age, and their general health before and after their injury. To help avoid or at leastalleviate these ailments, rehabilitation therapy is usually started as soon as possible. The goal of rehabilitation is to help the patient recover from, or find a way to compensate for any disabilities caused by their injury. Treatment may include medication as well as various forms of therapy.
